Rineco’s innovative technology differentiates us within the industry. Through this technology, we have maintained a proud tradition of managing a broad range of material and container types.
With a record of competence and fast response, our programs allow us to handle wastes such as solvents, paints, washes, resins, cosmetics, printing inks and refinery waste. But unlike many companies which can process only liquid wastes, Rineco can also process tough sludges and even rock-hard solids. Examples of these solids include: visquine, towels, gloves, empty containers, rags, filter cartridges, rubber boots, and reacted epoxy resins. Rineco accepts waste material in any DOT approved shipping container, from individual paint cans to roll-offs. Before Rineco accepts any waste, we profile and carefully analyze it to ensure complete compatibility with our processes and with all regulations. It is screened for pesticides, PCB’s, halogen content and much more.

Four key elements to our success are:
| |
 |
Documentation & Tracking - All inbound containers are weighed and assigned a bar-coded individual
container, or "IC" number. Using these human readable and scanner readable barcode labels and Rineco's Waste Disposal Management System (WDMS) we can track waste containers from the time they arrive until they are shipped for final disposal. Drums requiring distinctive handling methods are specially marked and those drums cannot be processed unless a Production Supervisor, Production Chemist or the Plant Manager is present.
The WDMS tracking system provides the following:
| - |
Inventory control while in storage (the container’s location and age is readily available) |
| - |
Time and date of processing |
| - |
Method used to process the material, how it was repackaged, and which fuel program is used for disposal |
| - |
Ready access to analytical data and special handling instructions |
| - |
Link in the cradle to grave trail |
|
| |
 |
Material Handling - Rineco is unique in our ability to handle all types of wastes in all types of containers-whether it is liquid or solid, sticky or containing trash, in pint containers or roll offs, Rineco has a piece of equipment or process that will safely and efficiently handle the material.
| - |
Disperser - This machine is used to blend solids and semi-solids into liquid for disposal. |
| - |
Shredder - A heavily inerted system used to process small containers, rags, or trash type solids into fuel blendable substance. |
| - |
Pail Packager - This machine containerizes undispersable solids, trash, etc. for use as a supplemental fuel via
six gallon polyurethane pails. |
|
|
| |
 |
Safety - Rineco management takes the safety of our employees and visitors very seriously.
We practice multiple levels of safety assurances from hazard communications to
the inertion process. Safety starts with profile generation and continues to the
final destination of destruction at the kiln.
| - |
All employees receive two days of training prior to involvement in operations.
Training is a continuous process in the plant. |
| - |
All receipts are reviewed by profile and analysis prior to release for processing. If any special handling is required, special instructions are written and flagged on the container. |
| - |
All containers are released using a special five category symbol coding system which warns the production employee of any handling concerns and identifies containers for which special instructions have been prepared. |
| - |
All equipment is inerted with CO2 and cannot be operated unless the inerting level is deemed safe. This is accomplished by the use of PLC logic |
| - |
The Disperser uses a double wall shell to allow the introduction of liquid N2 for quick control of any reaction |
| - |
All material transfer and processing is done in a batch system called "decoupling" which provides for containment and control of all material and any possible problems |
| - |
All machinery is equipped with O2 analyzers with interlocks and infrared cameras for heat detection. |
| - |
CO2 "snow" is available at all the equipment and a hose reel for immediate response is readily accessible. |
| - |
All of the processes are monitored by infrared cameras. |
| - |
AFFF foam is also readily available in hose reel form |
| - |
Fire sand is strategically located in the plant |

Container Management - CONTAINER DECONTAMINATION UNIT (CDU): This is a service we are proud to provide to our customers. After the removal of waste, the CDU supplies onsite thermo-decontamination of each steel container before shipment off-site as scrap metal. Drum Recycling Services details the decontamination process. |
